About Me

Why I ran for Medford city council.

I believe in the promise of a representative democracy; the balance between firmly held beliefs and representing the real-life needs of your constituents. I listen and I am willing to grow.

One thing I will never debate is the inherent value and worth of every human being. As the former Assistant Director and the current President of the Board of the Malden Warming Center, I can attest that our community members with the greatest challenges are worth care, respect, and dignity.

I have the expertise, connections, and qualifications to serve on the City Council. I hold bachelors and masters degrees from Boston University and a graduate certificate in Gender, Leadership, and Public Policy from UMass Boston. I was an intern for Representative Christine Barber and an employee of Senator Kathleen O’Connor-Ives in the State House. I worked for the Superintendent of Schools and with the School Committee and the Mayor’s office here in Medford. I see what needs to happen for Medford’s city government to work and to truly represent its residents.

What I believe in.

I believe we need to push for a review of Medford’s charter in order to have a functional city government that works for the people and accurately represents our population.

I believe we need to work harder to solve our affordable housing crisis. I believe we can offer more services to our neediest residents and they deserve our help and our care.

I believe in service. I believe the most good I can do is to push for progressive policies in Medford that will emphasize what is great about our city and make it even better.

Medford is a wonderful place to live, the best place I have ever lived. I want to work for the people of Medford who have lived here for generations and for my own children and their classmates who represent the future of our city. I want to respect what came before and lay the foundation for a successful future.
